• Next business day delivery
• Covers 80% of the country
• Cost varies between 12 and 25.5 dollars depending on weight
• Compensation is included (up to $100) in case of loss and damage to the goods.

Like parcels, there are several types of letters: regular, priority, express post, registered post, and domestic letter with tracking.

Regular letters

• Delivery time 2-4 days within the state and 3-6 between states
• The cost varies between 1 and 5.5 dollars without an envelope and 3.4 and 11.3 dollars with an envelope, depending on the weight and dimensions.

Priority letters

They differ from regular letters by the price of the service, it rises by 50 cents. But the delivery time is completely different. Within the state 1-2 days, between states 2-4 days.

Express post letters

Ideal for urgent letters and parcels.

• The cost varies between 11.5 and 14.5 dollars with an envelope depending on the size. The maximum weight is 500 grams.

Registered letters

Delivery time, like regular letters, but unlike other types of letters has several advantages and additional services.

The cost of 5.4-7.2 dollars (depending on size and weight). Includes a special brand.

Domestic letters with tracking

Economy

By air

Ideal for non-urgent letters up to 500 grams and low-value parcels up to 2 kg. You must complete the special customs form CN22 or CN23.

Standard

Courier

It is possible to send a letter up to 500 grams and a parcel of up to 20 kilograms. You must fill out the international courier declaration and courier air waybill.

What is a tracking numberand how to track your parcel

Australian mail, like manypostal serviceproviders, provides its customers with the service of tracking their parcel or letter.

You can always track a parcel or a letter on the official website of the Australian post at thetracking numbergiven to you at the post office. A single-track number format for registered international mail has been approved. The Australia Post Track number is the same and consists of 13 characters:

• RA111111111AU - for registered small packets from Australia up to 2 kg, the first letter is always R, from the word Registered;
• CD111111111AU - Australia Post parcel tracking number weighing up to 20 kg always starts with the letter C;
• EE111111111AU - EMS fast delivery starts with letter E.

The first letter R indicates that a small packet is registered, the letter C will be sent, EMC mail starts with Latin E. The numbers guarantee the uniqueness of the number. But the last letters define the country of the postal service from where the package was sent.

Conventionally, international mail of Australia Post goes through such main stages:

• Acceptance of shipment at the Australian Post Office;
• Processing and distribution in the sorting center;
• The parcel arrives at the place of international postal exchange, where it undergoes preparation for further movement;
• Customs clearance in the country of origin;
• Export;
• Import;
• Customs clearance by the receiving postal service;
• Sorting the parcel in the country of destination;
• Handing the package to the recipient.

Extra cover

Australian Post provides a service such as extra cover, which allows you to deposit an additional amount so that you can recover more than $100 for a lost or damaged package or letter.

The maximum refund amount is $5,000.

How does this service work? For the next $100 of possible reimbursement, $2.5 is paid. For example we send jewelry worth $4,000 to a neighboring state by sending up to 500 grams. Then our package will stand:
