Blue Mail

Registered Mail
The safest way to send documents and goods up to 2 kg. The mail is going to be delivered to the destination address, with a signature collection. The insurance is up to 10 times the price of the 1st weight step. The maximum dimension of the Registered Mail is 24 cm wide and 3.5 cm thick.

Additional Delivery Features
Proof of delivery
It allows users to receive proof of how your mail was delivered to the destination address. The person who receives the mail signs this receipt.
SMS or email notification
Receive an SMS or an email saying where and when CTT delivered your mail. Unlike the Proof of Delivery (acknowledgment of receipt), this notification cannot be used as evidence in court.
Self-Delivery
CTT only delivers your mail to the person for whom it is intended, upon presentation of an identification document. If your mail is lost or damaged, CTT Portugal Post will refund you up to 15 times the price of the 1st weight step. This service is available in conjunction with the Proof of Delivery (Receipt of Receipt).
Cash on Delivery
It indicates the amount you want to receive and CTT Portugal Post charge the person to whom your mail is addressed. The person to whom your mail is addressed decides how you want to make the payment. If you pay in cash or via ATM (if available), CTT Portugal Post will send you a postal order with the amount charged. If you pay by check, CTT Portugal Post will send you the check CTT Portugal Post received.
Collection On The Charge Against Refund
Indicate the amount you want to receive and CTT Portugal Post charge the person to whom your mail is addressed. Choose one of the following modalities:
- Against reimbursement. The person to whom your mail is addressed decides how you want to make the payment: If you pay in cash or via ATM (if available), CTT Portugal Post will send you a postal order with the amount charged. If you pay by check, CTT Portugal Post will send you the check CTT Portugal Post received.
- Against Cash Refund. The person to whom your mail is addressed can only pay in cash or via ATM (if available). After CTT Portugal Post receive it, CTT Portugal Post sends you a postal order with the amount charged.
Sending of values including value declaring
This service protects your assets in case of loss, damage, or total spoilage:
- It is optional if you want to increase the amount of insurance included in the shipping price.
- It is mandatory if you want to send realizable items, banknotes, or other securities.
The maximum amount you can declare is € 5,000 (check what countries it is available in and how much you can declare). The amount of compensation can never be higher than the amount you declared. To purchase this service, you must also purchase the Self-Delivery service.
CTT International Express
Convenient options for fast and wonderful international delivery. Among Express options you can choose between International and Economic. They include the following features:
- Shipping online or at a CTT Contact Point.
- Delivery to an address of your choice.
- Shipping status information and proof of delivery.
- Insurance included up to € 10 per kg.
With international Express, you can send packages via Online shipping. This option limits the package weight to 10kg. The pickup time you are able to choose among several time windows. The price for delivery directly depends only on the distance. It is available only for International options.
Shipping at a CTT Contact Point allows customers to send packages of 30kg. A large number of contact points are located around the country. It is available for International and Economic options.

Hourly Collection Windows
In case. when sending online, you request collection at an address, you can choose one of the following times on weekdays:
- 8:00 am - 10:00 am
- 10 am - 1 pm
- 1 pm - 4 pm
- 16:00 - 19:00
- 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Extra Insurance
It allows you to increase the insurance limit of the order. The maximum amount is € 12,500 and the insurance covers loss, loss, and damage.

Return or Forwarding Additional Features
In case the order cannot be delivered, you should contact the delivery service to tell it what to do with delivery. When filling out the submission form, choose to send it to another site (Return or Forwarding) or give up sending it (Abandonment). You can request it immediately if the person has not expected the package. Alternatively, after 15 consecutive days since the arrival notice, if, in the meantime, the order has not been collected.
- Return. The company sends your order back to your address (upon payment of the value of the new route). You will receive an arrival notice and should pick it up at the CTT Store indicated there.
- Forwarding. The company sends your order to a new destination of your choice (upon payment of the value of the new route). Unless it prohibits forwarding, whoever receives your order can also request that it be sent to a new destination or delivered again to the same address.
CTT Portugal Post Tracking Number Peculiarities
The CTT Portugal Post tracking number has a very common format. It consists of 13 characters, where the first and last two are letters. In most cases, it ends with PT. In the middle tracking numbers have 9 digits. Here some examples of them:

Average Delivery Time
Green Mail, Blue Mail, and Registered Mail.
- To mainland Portugal about 1 business day;
- To Azores and Madeira about 2 business days.
These deadlines are indicative. For the Azores and Madeira, the deadlines may be extended depending on transport limitations.
International Express.
- International option needs from 1 business day to deliver in more than 200 destinations;
